History of the Church
In 1998 the Presiding of Achimota Elder Ekuban saw the need to establish a church or a service which will meet the need of the youth in the church.
After some consultation he asked some of the Elders (Elder Coffie and Obiri Yeboah) to do a feasibility studies and see how best it could be approached.
After a series meeting with the Elders he presented the issue to the Presbytery and it was approved to have an English Service.
The then District Pastor Rev. Eric Kwagyiri supported this idea.
Mission
The Achimota English Service like all other Church of Pentecost assemblies exists to bring all people everywhere to the saving knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ through the proclamation of the gospel, the planting of churches and the equipping of believers for every God-glorifying service. Starting
On the 8th of May 1998, the church started with the youth and a few elderly people.
Turbulence
The church went through a lot of problems especially when people were calling on the authorities to stop the operation of the church others did not take it lightly at all to young ladies and girls in the church without scarf (head covering).
The issues of dancing and clapping were also a problem to others.
Even the singing of Western Christian songs was another issue we had to battle with.
On the whole the Lord gave us the patience to carry on.
Leadership
The District Pastor then mandated Elder Prof. Odamtten to head the church to be assisted by Elder John Coffie and Elder Samuel Sackey who had come from Mamprobi.
The church then operated under the auspices of the twi service.
